Prescribing
Meddbase caters for both acute and repeat prescriptions and covers all compliance around drug prescribing. Prescriptions are created in the system logged against the patient record. In accordance with regulation, all repeat prescriptions must be accompanied with a review date and repeat duration. If a review date has passed, Meddbase will alert the clinician to re-authorise the prescription before it can be given to the patient.
Integrated Drug Data
Meddbase includes a built-in drug database powered by First Data Bank. This central database is updated monthly ensuring the system is up to date with the latest drug information, dosages, products, pack sizes and much more.
Drug Interactions and SNOMED CT
Meddbase cross checks prescriptions against the patient record, matching SNOMED CT terms captured during the consultation with SNOMED CT terms logged against the drug data. This allows us to warn against drug to drug interactions, flag cautions, product warnings, contra-indications, adverse drug reactions and side-effects.
