How Superdrug keeps 60+ clinics from becoming 60 different ways of working

Bookings, questionnaires, consent, clinical records and billing stay connected, even when each service and location follows different rules.

About Superdrug Health Clinics

Superdrug Health Clinics operates more than 60 nurse- and pharmacist-led clinics across the UK. Its teams provide travel vaccinations, blood testing, health checks and aesthetic services through walk-in and pre-booked appointments.

  • Services. Travel vaccinations, blood testing, health checks and aesthetics.
  • Appointment model. Walk-in and pre-booked appointments, including individual and group bookings.
  • Market. United Kingdom.

One change should not become sixty workarounds

At one clinic, changing a questionnaire or diary restriction is a small job. Across more than 60 locations, the same change can become dozens of local instructions and repeated admin.

Superdrug’s existing booking portal had become bulky and difficult to develop. It was no longer delivering the patient journey the team wanted.

The team needed bookings, confirmations, questionnaires, consent, clinical records and billing to keep moving together, even when the service and clinic rules changed.

The right information, before the patient walks in

Once a patient books, appointment confirmations and pre-appointment questionnaires can be sent automatically.

By the time they arrive, the clinic already has the information it needs to begin. The front desk does not have to restart the appointment with forms and follow-up questions.

The patient has made one booking. The clinic sees one continuing journey.

Consent that stays with the patient

Digital consent is captured within the appointment and held against the patient’s medical record.

Staff do not have to treat the consent form, booking and clinical record as separate pieces of the same visit. The information stays together as the patient moves through the service.

The right rules are already there

A travel vaccination in one clinic may need different diary restrictions from a blood test in another.

Cority Meddbase lets Superdrug configure those rules by service and location. Clinic teams do not have to remember which local workaround applies to the appointment in front of them.

They open the diary and work from the right setup.

Billing that follows the care

Each service can also come with its own billing category and payer arrangement.

Integrated billing rules keep the commercial side of the appointment connected to the service delivered. The team does not have to reconstruct the visit after the patient has gone.

The booking, care and bill remain part of the same record.

See the whole network without calling every clinic

Superdrug manages more than 60 clinics through one shared system, with centralised diary visibility and reporting.

The central team can see what is happening across the network without chasing updates site by site. Each clinic can still follow the rules required for its services and location.

That is the balance Superdrug needed: one view across the network, without forcing every clinic into the same setup.

Change the service once, not the process sixty times

Clinic networks keep changing. New services are added, diary rules are updated and patient journeys develop.

Superdrug can configure those changes within Meddbase instead of creating another disconnected process for each location.

The next change does not have to become the next workaround.

What this looks like in Cority Meddbase

  • The right information, already there. Automated confirmations and pre-appointment questionnaires prepare the clinic before the patient arrives.
  • Consent that stays with the patient. Digital consent is recorded within the appointment and held against the medical record.
  • The right rules for every service. Diary restrictions can be configured by clinic and appointment type.
  • Billing that follows the care. Integrated billing rules support different service categories and payer arrangements.
  • The whole network in view. Centralised diaries and reporting give Superdrug visibility across more than 60 clinics.
